More about my trip, and how you can host me

I have decided to talk a bit more about my trip and how this will work. :)

A brief introduction for those who aren't familiar with the concept: toy voyagers are toys that are sent on a trip around the world, by being mailed from one host to the next. In my case, my mother/manager will sent me to someone, and then that person sends it to the next host on my list, and so on, until I go home again. Most if not all of this trip will take place in Europe, since I'm not used to travelling on my own.

My manager can send you something from her country if you would like, like a postcard. She can also send you things like cute buttons, a letter telling you about a typical day in her life, a mix CD, tea bags, etc. Just let her know what you would like and she'll try her best!

If you're not sure where to take me, just show me anything about the way you live. Local landmarks are also good, but you can show me other things as well: what you're eating for dinner, what you're drinking, your favourite park, your pets, places you like in your town that aren't on any tourist guides. Anything, really, my manager thinks that half of the surprise is seeing other places through the eyes of my hosts.

As you can see, I'm the biggest art historian in the octopus world.

As to places I like to visit, I'm a big fan of cemeteries, locations that are said to be haunted, museums of all types, beautiful and/or unusual places. My manager loves food and art in general. xD She's also very interested in religion so you can show me more about your religion or other local religions if you feel comfortable doing that (and as long as you're not disrespectful or due to others). Of course, you don't have to take me to any of these places because as I said above, half of the fun is seeing what places matter to you. :)

There are no rules about places where you CAN'T take me, but most zoos make my manager a little sad so please avoid them.

By the way, if you have a toyvoyagers account you can make updates directly on my blog there. If you are hosting me, please let my mother know if it would be ok if she posted some pictures here as well, or even if you'd like to post here! This blog makes it easier for some of her relatives and friends who don't have TV accounts to update if they host me and to keep updated about what's happening. Every picture posted here will be tagged with the URL, so people can find this blog and see the credit for each image. It's fine if you don't want your updates outside of the TV site though.

If you are a bit new to all this, you're probably wondering how long you're supposed to keep me around. We'll say 1 month as that seems to be the average, but if you would like to keep me for longer just let my manager know so she won't think that I'm lost, and if you don't have 1 whole month to spend with me it's also ok to host me for less time than that, if you tell my manager she'll understand. :D

Here is a final picture of me with a statuette of Athena. I don't know why the picture looks like I'm underwater:

(The pictures I took today aren't very good, because it's less sunny than it was this morning and my manager's camera doesn't take very good pictures when it's dark-ish.)

hello :3

Hello my dear fans!
I'm starting this blog to (hopefully) document my next tour. I'm Renato Otto, a terribly adorable pink octopus with glittery eyes (I've heard they're the prettiest in the octopus world) and I'm trying to make it in the ballet world. My most recent show, the Oystercracker, was not very good and I'm currently unemployed, so I want to take some time to travel and show the world just how talented I am!

I generally live with my manager, but her life has been rather boring lately for health reasons and I've decided to set off on a tour on my own. I hope to travel to more continents than she has, and meet lots of lovely new people. If you would like me to bless your town with a stop, please get in touch with my manager, because I'd love to stay with you!

Today my manager brought me to her house, and we had an impromptu photoshoot. She forgot her camera's batteries, so this cellphone picture will have to do. It's not a great shot, but I think it says something about how beaaaautiful I am that I still look very handsome. Don't take my word for it, look:

I must go now, but please feel free to check out my other blog about this experience here. I hope we can meet soon!

Love and kisses,
Renato Otto
